Writer: Catherine Parry-Wingfield
Catherine Parry-Wingfield is an art historian, teaching and lecturing on the visual arts of the 18th and early 19th centuries. She has spent many years working on a project to conserve Sandycombe Lodge, close to the Thames in Twickenham, a wonderful house designed for his own use by J.M.W. Turner. Sandycombe is now beautifully restored and open to the public. During Covid lockdown, she became immersed in the family records of her husband, Maurice, and began to piece together the stories of the ten children of Dean Farrar. Ivor Farrar (qv) was Maurice’s great-uncle.
