Diana Matthews JP DL has lived in Windermere all her life, as have many generations of her family. Her grandfather T Cooper Pattinson knew Jack Kitchen (qv), the inventor, very well and the family archive holds material related to him. She was a trustee and hon archivist of the Windermere Steamboat Museum for some thirty years and was the founding chairman of the Windermere History Society. From 2013-2014 she was the High Sheriff of Cumbria.
