Writer: Joanne Phizacklea
Born in Blackpool, she attended school in Whitehaven and moved to Ulverston as a library assistant before becoming Assistant Librarian at Furness General Hospital. After graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University, she joined the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay as Clinical Librarian and Deputy Head of Library Services, supporting members of staff and students with their academic and professional research.
Since taking early retirement she continues this activity by proofreading, helping authors and working with the editor of the Morecambe Bay Medical Journal. Very interested in genealogy, she has been researching her family history for many years.
