Writer: Richard Hall
Richard Hall is descended from a Border Reiving family, was raised on a farm on the Solway and educated at St Bees School and Jesus College, Cambridge. He obtained an Archive Diploma from, UCW, Aberystwyth and undertook doctoral research on the finance of the Anglo-Scottish War 1335-1350. An archivist at Carlisle Record Office 1973-76 and Kendal Record Office 1978-2013, he was Hon Secretary of the Cumberland and Westmorland Antiquarian and Archaeological Society 1983-2001 and is now a Fellow and member of the Publication Committee. He is also a committee member of the Romney Society and a Trustee of Lake District Summer Music.
